Diplomacy is Dead

His death hit me different than most celebrity deaths. Chadwick Boseman… I know he had other roles, but he will forever be our Black Panther. This was the first time in my lifetime that many saw a black superhero in mainstream theaters. Black people from all over went into the theaters and came out with our chest puffed to the ceiling and head held high with a new refreshed sense of black pride. In the movie, we see King T’Challa taking the diplomatic route to trying solve the world’s injustices. Killmonger had a more radical approach to solving the issues. To me, Boseman’s death symbolizes the death of the diplomatic approach. In order to create change, we must build a radical movement.
